Artist's Description

The Three Gorges Dam project in China was completed in 2009. Because of the construction of the dam, ships have to be lifted or lowered more than 300 feet (91.4 meters). Five locks are used, each raising or lowering the vessel about 65 feet (19.8 meters).

Proceeds from the sale of this photograph goes to help orphaned and abandoned children in Colombia South America.
